Peter's 'Residential Irrigation' tips!

Meet Peter from Residential Irrigation.

Peter has lived in the Territory for over 43 years, with 10 years in the bush and the last 30 years in Virginia.

“The Top End is just great! Laid back lifestyle and people. Superb fishing and camping, without the crowds.  I love the dry season and the storms in the wet.”

Here’s some tips from Peter to help you in the garden!

What’s your favourite part of Garden Tune Ups?

Helping clients to save money and water, while keeping their gardens looking good.

What is your favourite plant and why?

Grevilleas!  They are a good screening bush with great bird attracting flowers and need little water and maintenance.

What’s your water efficient tips for the dry season?

Mulch, mulch, mulch! Preferably hay.

What’s your water efficient tips for the build up?

Make sure you seasonally adjust your automatic irrigation controller to counter large transevaporation rate in Darwin.

What’s your water efficient tips for the wet?

I recommend fertilising your garden towards the end of the wet season.

What would you be doing if you weren’t busy being an irrigator?

I would be travelling for sure!

Name one item on your bucket list?

I want to go to Namibia to see the desert elephants.
